will the seca turbo interchange with the maxim 750? I am in the middle of a build and that is one of the last things we need to finish

does it have to be an original one or just one that works?
im replacing mine tomorrow with an R1 one from a local wrecker.
Mine is actaully an FZR one anyway, but as long as its a 5/8 bore, the correct banjo bolt size and it fits a 7/8 bar i think you can use just about anything you like.

just one that works I ride really hard though so stopping would be nice as well. I just can't find anything inexpensive, and as I've been told I'm cheap not frugal. I need one asap

The XJ750 Maxim master cylinders are designed to fit the stock handlebars and use a "tilted reservoir" orientation when mounting to the bars.....the tilted reservoir thus compensates for the tilt in the handlebar angle and allows the reservoir (and the fluid in it) to remain more-or-less level. Most other master cylinders (including the Turbo) are designed for much flatter handlebars, and thus have the reservoir parallel to the mounting angle of the master cylinder bore.

The use of "flat bar" mater cylinder/reservoir units on bikes designed for the "tilted reservoir" master cylinders can, under certain situations, cause brake fluid starvation, as well as having your right mirror (which screws into the m/c housing) sit at a very odd angle.

well i ditched the R1 master cyl idea, i got to the wreckers this morning and the R1 cyl was $75 AUD and a brand new Hyosung unit WITH 6 position adjustable lever and new banjo bolt was $90 AUD. You may say "Hyosung?" but its brand new - i reckon thats good value.

Actually, do you guys in the Americas even have Hyosungs over there? They are a cheap China bike that has recently flooded the Aussie market. Cheap but not too bad.

Anyway, just thought i'd let ya'll know.

    Tim.

bummer about the wreckers. we have an MC salvage yard around here that is renowned for WAY over charging but sometimes, for some things, they are the only game in town.
I got my R6 master cylinder off craigslist for US$20 and it came with an R6 gage pod (not sure what I'm gonna do with that but it was tossed in free so I took it)
