What do I do with the vacuum line that went to the stock petcock after I replaced it with and aftermarket one?

    Should I plug it?

The beast, XJ700 Maxim, is a bitch to start.

Cap it the same as the other three (you still use them for vacuum carb sync.)

    Thanks bigfitz52.

You can buy those same little rubber caps at the auto parts.

Thanks again. Next time I go to town I'll bring one with me. NAPA will surely stock them.

    Hi bigfitz52:

The idle is too high when the engine is hot after a run.
It revs at about 4500 - 5200 rpm. Which way do I turn the idle adjustment knob?

There is a screw on top of the carbs where they enter the engine. Is the the mixture screw?

Thanks for all your help so far.

Is your old petcock salvageable? I'm looking to find a 700 core.

    Sorry Robert.
Petcock was damaged beyond repair when tank fell off bench onto concrete floor. Smashed, FUBAR.
