While trying to put the clutch plates back together i broke the off using a torque wrench! Alot of course words flowed through my head @ this point. I also broke another bolt with the same torque wrench, thought I had it figured out! Well, after that i slowly got up and went to my local NAPA store. After speaking to the man behind the counter he recommended a reverse drill bit! Thank God it worked as he said it would. I think I might mount the bit on the wall and shine a light on it!

Well....it's a drill bit that only works when put the drill in reverse. The NAPA Guru said that it would bit into the bolt and it would twist out the rest of the bolt! As he said it did! I was surprised and happy as a Pig in mud! It cost $6.00!

Reverse bits ( some call them left hand bits) are a must in any tool box. I would be stuck without my set. They are the best tool to get out stubborn bolts and carb jets.

They can be found at Lowes, Home Depot and other fine retailers (snort). Irwin makes a nice set for about $35. Snap-On and other tool marketers will gouge you for them but they do work (I've 2 or 3 sets myself).

I would say God bless reverse drill bits instead of NAPA! I have the same experience with a bolt form the head cover. That day I felt the smartest man! LOL

They're called pigs' dicks here in Norway... absolutely a must for rusted, broken bolts.
