How to remove/replace hand grips

    hey, i just bought some new grips. I was wondering how to get off the old ones so i can work on getting these bad boys on.

    use a razor blade and carefuly cut the old ones off then use some good ol spit lube and slide the new ones on.

    You can use a compresssed air nozzle to "inflate" them slightly and they'll slide right off.

    Note the stock throttle-side grip has grooves and notches inside it to engage with ribs and "lugs" on the throttle drum (barrel.) Those ribs and lugs may need to be removed or at least "reduced" to accomodate your new RH grip (or you can get an "unribbed" barrel from XJ4Ever.) I just take a Dremel to them and be done with it.

    Any explaination as to why those lugs are there? Seems awfully silly to have designed them in there knowing full well they would impeed future (and expected) replacement.

    those ribs are annoying. I had to dremel them all off and use "lube" to slide it on. The most annoying part were those 4 or 5 knobs at the outter end of the throttle...nothing would slide over those.

    I will post pics of my new mirrors/handles

    Those look great! Where did you get the handles? I've been thinking about replacing mine down the road.
