82-83 XS400R YICS tool?

    does such an animal exist these days or am I stuck adapting the DIY plans found here to make a smaller/shorter one for the "half an XJ" ?

    not sure you would even need one. Can't see it mentioned in the FSM.

    now that's interesting. I just skimmed the FSM myself and didn't find any mention of it. wonder if that's due to the 180deg crank or what... there clearly IS yics ports present... I'll be sure to investigate further when that project some day makes it high enough on the to-do list to get done.

    just try stuffing some oily rags in there, and putting the bolts back it. if there are yics passages you should only need one piece of rag to block it off. then just use a small dowel to clean it out where you're done.
