With an electrical problem, the first thing is check the battery. A fully charged battery should be just about 13 volts. If it isn't, try charging it with a 1 amp charger with float feature. Do not use a higher amp charger, it will overheat the battery and destroy it.

The fuse panels on these bikes are one of the weaknesses. Check the fuse holders to ensure they are good. The clips have a tendency to crystallize and break causing a loss of power in the circuit.

There are several safety switches that prevent the bike from starting. The side stand switch, the kill switch, neutral switch, and clutch switch. these operate a safety relay. The relay can be removed for testing the circuit. This should be reinstalled before riding. If you do remove it to test functions, ensure the bike is in neutral.

The start switch actually connects the starter solenoid coil to ground. The relay should click when the button is pushed. If it does with a fully charged battery, you might have a faulty solenoid. You can jump the solenoid by carefully shorting the terminals. Again use caution and ensure you're in neutral.

If you need a schematic of the bike let me know. I have one posted.

    We need lots more info.

    '82 Seca what? 550, 650, 750?
What have you replaced/checked so far?
    battery
    selenoid
    fuses
    key switch
    safety relays
    connections clean

The above list is just a few of the possibilities.

    Other helpful things to know:

have you tried anything other than the starter button to get it to roll over?
