part compatibility

    what would the part compatibility be between an 82 and 83 xj650? or where could i find that info? just curious if an 83 would be a good parts bike for an 82.

    Mostly the same. Go to a yamaha parts catalog online. ( a few mentioned in here regularly) and cross part #'s ..... thats what I do. Good luck

    The '82 and '83 are identical with the exception of the oil pan. The '83 has two extra locating dowels for the pan.
