I currently have my bike pretty much stripped down with the engine still in the frame. Carbs are off, pretty much just wheels, frame and engine. I am going to remove the engine for a valve clearence check and paint. I want to do a compression check now before I remove the engine. The wiring harness is removed so no starter solenoid/ battery etc. From what I can see there is 1 wire comming from the starter. Is is possible to just bump the starter from a battery enought for me to get my compression readings? How would I go about hooking up the starter to the battery? Or will I need some more components to pull this off. Any ideas would help. Thanks.

You can put +12V directly to the Starter.
Run Jumper Cables to the Post on the Starter ( RED + )
Ground the Starter or Frame ( BLACK -- )

    A Car or Bike Battery
    Fully Charged
