    Well shoot!
Guess I picked up a pretty good sized nail
scootin' around last night..? Would it be best
to take it off and run it in for a patch or could
I just plug it myself and feel semi okay about it?
    Thanks for your help/insight! 8)

Welp... Did the plug thing and all looks okay
as I can tell for now. The damn nail didn't go
straight in, ( that'd been too easy...). Got 'er
plugged tho. Sooo, Here's to good mojo down
    the road.

They're tubeless tires. On a motorcycle.

I wouldn't trust it, that's for sure. Get it patched ASAP or replace the tire.

Front or back ?? Don't mess around with the front.

I had a nail in the BACK tire of the FJR and inserted a plug WITHOUT reaming the hole and it still had a minute leak where I had to air the tire every ride. So, I added 5 OZ of "Green Slime" and it sealed up.
Got 5,000 miles out of that tire. No noticable vibration from the Slime.

    "all looks okay"

LOL, you ARE kidding right? Plug or patch (in that order) for emergency only....then replace the tire. Maybe it's just me but with only 2 tires, it won't be worth a buttload of roadrash (if your lucky...and if you aren't lucky, it won't matter to you anymore)to save 100 bucks

You probably posted that just because you KNEW we'd tell you to replace the dang tire and save your life.....sometimes we need to hear others tell us what we already know.

Plug from the outside? like JeffK says emergency use only

There are proper plugs that can be done from the inside which are a permanent repair depending on where in the tread area it is

    Ohhh man.
I feel this gents pain with the new tire. It really
sucks..! At any rate, This was me the other night.
Around 7:06 he talks about "gunky". Man,
"gunky" is this crap at 90+ degrees. I'd imagine
October up in the great white north is pretty cool
weather. He was able to get a good bit of wear out
of it. It was basically the exact same "kit" I used
to get this thing rollin' again. The only thing I did
different was to get the loop back with the 2 other
strands and ya' end up with one stout mass of,
"Gunky"..! 8O  Used a scalpel blade to cut
the excess right flush. Hopefully this thing will
hang in there and I'll get a new tire landed by
days end. Chaps the ol' caboose!

Is the tire worth your life?
It isn't like a car, lose one and you have 3 more. Here, you lose one and you only have one and you will most likely be eating pavement. It just isn't worth the risk. Sorry.

XJ511 had no idea you had dunnys on your bike but they are a real popular tire brand among the riders not bottom line not top shelf but a good tire all around in my opion

    Dude... what's your life worth!!??
More than that, if your chick is riding with you and you loose that plug and then the bike.....she'll think youre a dweeb for doing that to her!!!
If one of your buddys is riding and the plug comes undone.... he'll hate you forever and you'll feel the same towards the chump that trashed your ride!!!!
In the end, any mishap will be at your expense!!

At least pull the tire and have it patched the right way!!
And then chock it up to a lesson learned!! Stay away from nails!!!

Alright. Havin' the new Dunny mounted and balanced.
Came in at $172.24 and I've been havin' to bite the
blood outa' my damn tongue for a couple daze...

This is what I found when this all took place. When I
saw the nail, 'Course the thing looked huge 'n gnarly!
Well, I'm lookin' at it and goin', "NOOO WAAAY!!!" The
nail is a pristine 8d, Basic framing nail. So, I'm scratchin'
and thinkin' and again, "NOOO WAAAY!!!" As ya'll well
know we're movin' forward - 99.9% of the time. There
is that point of a percent when we're movin' backward...
If you park like I do, You'll push back and roll out.

Well this mighty fine, PRISTINE, 2 1/2", 8d was in my back
tire in an upward direction. The thing had to be placed
behind the tire..? Orrr we're talkin' the ol' majic bullet
theory thing, Ya' know... The distortion to the nail stems
from me removing it. Sheez! What a nasty feelin' that is
and was..! So this puts me in the 2 tire a season category
and I don't ride a bike like that.

I wanted to apologize for bleedin' on you good folks first
and foremost. Guess I was just swole up tryin' to figure
out what kinda' diabolical nutjob would pull somethin'
like that to begin with and then, Ya' just get some of that
pissed off..! I've considered alot of stuff my bros, BELIEVE
me. What if I backed in..? What if it blew out on the front
at 70-75 down the highway..? Lotsa crazy stuff starts to
work on the ol' mind, GUARANTEE ya'. So as the coppers
do their thing, I'll go back to mine. I'm here in a townhouse
for one more month. Never be so glad to be shed of anything
in all my life. Don't have any earthly idea who I could have
possibly given the reda** to and will say this in ordinary
english... If it were that I ever ran on somebody doin'
anything as remotely insane as this, They'd draw up last air.

** The pics are just to give ya' an idea. #2 is me pushin' back...
I can't thank you budros enough for all the help and insight.
All the cautions with input. CLASS ACT!!!
Thanks and this puts the post to bed.
