Papa always said "the only stupid question was the one you never asked", so here goes.
The wheels on my bobbed XJ550 seca don't match anymore so I 'm looking to fix that. I have a rear from an 81 virago/maxim and am getting a front to match. (eBay is our friend). The brake rotor is on the wrong side of the wheel on the virago/maxims. My question is: Can I take my seca rotor and put it on the opposite side of the maxim tire so the spoke curve matches the rear wheel? Or will I need to pick up a new front end with the brake caliper on the other side.
Next question is: Anyone need a seca front wheel in need of some paint? Free.99 plus shipping :) I'll even pull the tire to save shipping as it needs replacing anyway.

I ran into to same problem, ended up buying a whole maxim 550 front end with disc on the left to swap out.

OK, I got the replacement rim today and found that you CAN, in fact, swap the 550 seca rotor to the opposite side of the maxim wheel and have everything line up and work normally. WOOT now my wheels match!
