I finally have my bike tuned and running great.
I hit the local BP to put some premium in the tank.
The pump wouldn't turn on. After three tries the attendant gets it to pump.
About a mile and a half later the bike sounds like it's running on three cylinders, won't idle and has no power.
Luckily, I only put 5 bucks in.
Should I drain the gas or just run it through the motor?

Drain the water err umm I mean gas.
A local BP sold me some water a few years back.
The pumps are supposed to shut down when water is detected but it doesn't always work.

Either drain it in favour of some real gasoline or you could add some gas line antifreeze. It is methyl hydrate and disperses the water making it easier to mix into the gas. This usually clears up the drivability but the fuel mileage still sucks.

Maybe that is why it wouldn't pump until the attendant came out and messed with it.
I definitely won't be getting gas there anymore....

To be safe, I ended up draining the tank and carb bowls.
The in line fuel filter had some brownish stuff on the screen.
Kind of like really fine grained sediment.
The stuff coming out of the bowls had a brownish tint also.
I changed the in line filter, put in good gas with some stabilizer and the bike is back to normal.
