Who has emulators installed in the forks? Do they work? Do you like them? Are they available for a Seca 550? Just a few questions.

Race Tech has a P/N listed for most all the vintage bikes that do not have a cartridge for valving......They had them for my 550 Seca.....170.00 a pair...I have the same questions that you do tho....Never used a pair, wondered how they worked out and if worth the $s spent........Word I got from a couple of track bike people was on some forks they are like night & day difference.............other forks/bikes not so much.....More than likely will end up picking up a pair........Never had a bad deal from Race Tech yet tru the years......Units are a bit pricey but ya get what ya pay for........

Ouch. Expensive little buggers; it does look like they list them for 35mm/36mm forks so you could probably find a set that would fit the 550 Seca.

That being said, once you replace your stock front fork springs with a set of new Progressive Suspension or Works Performance springs you may find that the front end works so much better that trying to improve upon the damping characteristics is wholly unnecessary for street riding.

The difference a modern set of progressive fork springs makes in the stock forks on the 550 Seca is like night and day. One of the most remarkable differences is in braking believe it or not, as the front wheel is much more firmly "stuck" to the road in spite of pavement irregularities.

I'd recommend a fork spring upgrade first; especially since the cost is about HALF of what "Emulators" currently go for.

    Hi Fitz..............

Thats a bit of good news.....I already have the springs from Progressive.........Still researching the forks for interchange/update mods......Lens catalog, Ebay and a couple of other links from forum members have been a real help......Fraid with everything in bits that the lure of adding the valves is strong.....I've worked with Race Tech in the past to sort my 7/11 & Sportster projects...Cannot say enough about those people or my past experiences with them......

Good advise on your part....I can always add the valves later if the need dictates..

    Thanks...
