I have a 82 maxim J I think I'm missing a relay. I can find my headlight relay followed by what looks like my canceler box it has 6 wires epoxied into it a black long box. Then under my coils what looks like my my flasher relay three wires going into it pretty sure that's what it is, and then the mystery an empty rubber mount and an empty plug right in front of the flasher relay. The empty female plug has what looks like four wires the colors are one solid black one what looks blue/white one what looks green or light blue/white and one red/white.. If you help me figure out what this plug goes to would be much appreciated. It would probably fix a lot of the issues I have been having like funky turns signals and all lighting has been pretty messed up.. Thank you

Actually, without having the book in front of me, it sounds as though somebody "permanently unplugged" the starting safety cut-out relay.

The bike is completely taken apart in front of me because I'm trying to figure out all of the issues with this bike like the lights and turn signals. So if you have any questions shoot im sitting next to the bike with the laptop. I'm looking at the haynes diagram for the 650 J and see no 4 wire plug with those colors. I possibly have a chopped up bike with a odd wiring harness some things on the diagram are correct and some are not I'm lost maybe looking at the wrong electrical diagram I'm not good with this stuff..

OKAY, FINE so it's most likely the sidestand relay and the wire colors have faded a bit...
