Bringing back those little white letters....on our controls on the handle bars and such.
Anyone ever find a good way to repair or re-do the little white letters on the handlbar controls? I'm talking the words like "Run" and "Stop", "Horn" ect...
Many of mine aren't inlayed (or I would just paint them). They appear to have been silk screened or something like that. I'd like to find a way to make them like new again...without buying brand new controls of course.
Been wondering if someone could make vinyl lettering that small...
    Any thoughts?

Reproductions are available from a number of sources; some are quite expensive and require 'lacquering on' and some are inexpensive cheap stick ons. They pop up on eBay a lot (that's where I got mine, stick on style) and you might check with chacal to see what he has.

    No luck on eBay ATM.

Great links. That was one of my mini projects while redoing brake systems soon.

Lacquering on? What's that? Can you point me to any of those sources, both cheap and expensive?
I'll keep checking Ebay, although I have a constant search of anything XJ1100 and ahven't seen them there yet. Might need to expand that a bit...

As for the cheap ones, the link I had saved is broken. I'll try to dig up the actual contact info of the guy I got mine from. The "RD" set Rick gave you the link to has the "off/run/off" in the wrong orientation.
