What would be your Post apocalyptic motorcycle? Is the question me and my dad have been talking about for a while, so just thought I would ask you guys and see what you all think. Just a few things u might what to think about like size, weight, reliability, reparability, speed, acceleration and a few more I can not think of. I was thinking on the lines of some thing like a XT550 or something similar, just because it’s mid weight, fairly simple, fast of the line, reliable and you could ride it pretty much most places. But it’s up to you what ever you think would be best and I am looking forward to hearing what you think!

    Thanks
    Al

Honda CBX1000. Can't beat the looks or the sound. I would want 6 of 'em. Plenty of parts to keep 'em going.

I am gong to guess this is a time of chaos and you can steal what ever you want.

I would go for a 1946 Indian Chief. The thing is built like a tank, looks cool and very simple technology to keep running.

Second Choice would be a WWII U.S. Military issue Harley.

I'd have to go with some early model US made bike. Kickstart, magneto and generator. No heavy batteries to need replaced, no starter to need replaced. A lot of parts can be found on older cars and trucks or fairly easily fabricated with hand tools.

Well, if you're talking about a "Mad Max" situation, then you obviously must go with a Kawasaki KZ, since that's about all they used in that movie.

    Me likey Kwakies!

kawi KLR or suzie DR. Rock solid dualsports on the dirty side of that fence. Easy to wrench on and can't throw a rock without hitting spare parts for them.

He also says that bicycles make no noise, use no fuel and can be ridden faster than a zombie can run. Sorry, I love my MC but zombies are nothing I want to mess with...

Ummmm....bicycles certainly make some noise, have a much smaller "range", and how do you know how fast a zombie can run...especially up a steep hill?

Besides, there will be plenty of gas....zombies don't need it!

I'd want the closest one that works.....who cares about the model!

Those MZ mastiff 660s have the same engine as the yamaha XT660 so would be a good option.

It's all based upon the assumption that there will be gasoline after the asteroid hits us! The mountain bike gets my vote.

well the old school with kick start is good sense but I want something lighter for agility but stable enough to get really mad max- sawed off mounted on a pivot at the handle bars. just cause its an apocolypse don't mean you cant enjoy the sport of it. thinking mid size KZ maybe.
