How not to test for a sticking intake value on number 3 cylinder.

Cranking over bike over, did not notice the puddle of gas in the air box.
Number three cylinder fires, fire shoots back through the crabs. ignites
gas in air box. Voila big fire ball and one 650 Maxim torch.

Thankfully we got out the fire with minor damage. Now we are pulling the heads off.

Never knew one motorcycle could provide so much excitement with out even ridding it

I had that happen to me while working on an XT550. Only difference is it caught my pants on fire too. It sure was a sight seeing me jump around like a crazy man trying to put myself out. Glad you didn't get hurt. It makes your heart stop for a second when that happens.

Thanks for the good words. It had a chance of being ugly.
    I like the Fireball name.
