What is between my petcock and the tank , paper filter or rubber O ring ?
Reason for asking is if I remove it , will I be able to re-install as is or will I be on a hunt for a gasket ?
Oh yeah almost forgot , 82 650 max

I removed my petcock a few weeks ago off my 82 XJ650RJ Seca and remember there being a rubber o-ring.

Rubber oval gasket very similar to an oring and very reusable.

Not the best POV, but this will give you an idea of what it looks like before you pull the petcock off.
