My seca didn't have a horn at all when I bought it so I picked up a K&S 12v compact horn. I found the wires where the original horns were snipped off and I wired in the new horn, but when I turn on the ignition and push the handlebar button all I get is a little click. I also tried it with the engine running but still nothing. Any ideas on what my problem might be?

I'm no pro here, but you could disconnect and put on a meter, push the button and see if you read 12 volts. That's what my old horn did... just click with no sound.

    You may NEED a relay.
The horn button can be used as the on/off source for the relay.
My electrical post has some DIY info/pics.

Some horns have a screw on them that needs to be adjusted for them to honk correctly. Is there a flathead screw that doesn't seem to connect to anything?

    Consider yourself lucky.

    Mine don't even click!

When I press the Horn Button, ... every once in a great while ... they do emit some low-level hum that makes folks take-out their cell phones and say hello.

Classic symptom of the horn needing adjustment (the tiny - usually Phillips-head - screw on the back). Horns are basically electrical relays that are constantly connecting/disconnecting. The sound is produced by a metal diaphragm connected to one end of the "relay" arms. If there is only a "click", then the "relay" is not automatically disconnecting. Adjust tiny screw for max sound (shouldn't need much adjusting).

I did try messing with the adjustment screw a little but to no avail, would it need to be screwed in further or backed out?

I'm wondering if the horn mount (bracket) isn't corroded or something. it's not a bar but a bunch of metal leafs right?

Along that train of thought... does the new horn have its own ground wire or grounded to frame? If to frame, did you repaint the frame? Is the frame/bolts all rusty?

There is no separate ground wire on the horn, I assume it must ground to the frame mount. It came with two strips of metal for mounts, but they are both fully painted. I might try roughing up the paint where it meets the frame to see if that does anything.

Before I put my bike up...over 10 years ago...the horn didn't work at all. After recently putting the bike back into action, the horn works great, without even touching it. Wierd...

May want to check to see if your metal strips are conductive after roughing up... Mine weren't so I was left to crate a lead line.

I thought I could get some noise back out of mine.
    I disassembled them.
The interior mechanism, ... where the Contact Points and the Electromagnet set behind the Vibrating Diaphragm Disc ... was all rusted badly.

    Beyond hope.
