I wanted to put some gas through my carb before I put it on the seca. When I put fuel through it and when the bowls filled up I noticed that gas was coming out of the exhaust connections (towards airbox/filter). Is this normal? If not, What should I do?

Gas running out the carbs is not normal, or safe, the float needles / seats are letting by. You can try pollishing them, or replace them.
Also, if the float levels are wrong, they can flood, or the floats in upside down.

I think depends at what angle you had the carbs at when they were leaking.
Float levels/needle not seating would cause the gas to more or less overflow.

BTW if your petcock has a prime setting you dont need to fill em up before you put em back on.

It is not normal unless you were holding the carb really crooked.

It is usually an indication that either your float needle is not sealing well to its seat, or the service fuel level (float height) is too high.

You'll have to do some Troubleshooting.

    Possibilities include:

    Petc0ck Leaking-by
    Carb Float Height -- Incorrect.
    Carb Float Seat obstructed
    Carb Float Seat Worn-out
    Carb Float Needle Sticking
Carb Float Needle Geometry ... Needle cannot seat.
Carb Float Needle "Solid-type" ... Worn
Carb Float Needle "Viton-type" ... Worn or missing.
