You get a little back pulse from the valve slamming shut that air doesnt just stop when it runs into that closed valve cant say I have actually seen the shaft pulse before I have seen the manifolds pulsing . Could you post a video I would like to see that it would be something new for me. Thanks

If the plastic washer is pulsing........... I would say your throttle shaft seals are not sealing very well.

Have you replaced those seals when you had the carbs apart?

Theres really not much room for side to side movement in the throttle bore if its moving that much you have some worn out butterfly plates and then you have the shaft spring pulling it to one side

I'm pretty sure mine does the same thing. New shaft seals this past winter.

if you've replaced the throttle shaft seals and your butterfly valves aren't worn then my only guess would be that the white plastic spacers themselves have worn thin...my bike did the same exact thing. i recently overhauled the carbs including throttle shaft seals and noticed the plastic spacers are really worn and slightly concave allowing slight lateral movement. i plan to replace them soon and i do remember reading something about them in len's catalog.

I think i'm going to rip my carbs off this weekend *sigh* and check my butterflies.

I seem to remember not checking alignment when I put the butterflies back on, when I did the shaft seals, so I wanna make sure I did do that right.

Cause THAT could be causing me all my grief at idle lol
