I have the original factory frame mounted touring fairing and was thinking I would like to trade this for the factory fork mounted sport version. Trade value would be dependent on condition.

Mine is pretty nice with very few flaws and new paint. I have everything required to mount it including a 9pin electrical connector. The windscreen portion is aftermarket and could stand to be replaced due to bad crazing, but is otherwise intact.

Sorry, don't have a sport fairing for trade.Do however, have a ? I bought an '83 a month and a half ago, with the touring fairing. The headlight is loose and rattles. While I'm sure that the oncoming drivers notice the squirming light,it doesn't do me much good. How do I tighten the fitting-or does the fairing just need to be split @ the seams to get at the bracket ?

You need to pull the headlight out from the front. Once you pull it all out you will see where the adjuster knob threads come down and go through the headlight holder frame (top back). There is supposed to be a spring on top of the bracket and a nut on the bottom with a C clip below that to create a bottom stop point. The most common thing I see with these is the spring breaks. A good local hardware store like a True Value should have a selection of compression springs to choose from to replace it.
