    8) Hey gang I trust your garages look much like mine! so.....
    I need an ignitor, black label type TID14-02, 4H7-10 or 5v2-10.
    Hopin someone has one laying around and can part with it. Mine's unreliable after 31 years- it lasted longer than most marriages right? :lol:
    Would really like to hear some good news from a new friend- I'm retired medical now and plan on being here till I go in the ground. I'm an old Yamaha cert tech too- but it's been awhile.

    I have a 1980 XJ650 Maxim ignitor. I'm not sure if it's compatible with the 1981 engine but let me know if you're interested.

    No problem. I actually have another spare ignitor that was given to me by the previous owner of my XJ650. I've never actually used it and I'm not sure off the top of my head what model it is, but I can let you know this weekend when I get back to the garage. Since I have no idea if it actually works, I'd let it go for $20 + $6 shipping if you're interested.

    ended up with 2 ignitors including yours...yours works perfectly! the miss on takeoff is gone and it has never run better!! Now I have to store it for the winter- not fair!!!! never missed a beat. Thanks a LOT! 8)

    Any of you all still have a working ignitor left to sell? or know of a good place to buy xj650 parts online other than ebay?

    I'm tryin to get my bike on the road, its april, beautiful oustide, and I feel like a kid on Christmas thats being made to wait till after dinner to open presents.

    My spare is gone, sold to a local guy, sorry. just google the number that's on the ignitor, that should work. the number has changed on some of them, gotta run to the garage- brb- all I have is my old one...
    the number I used is 4h7-10 thats for an 81 without a kickstand switch. The kickstand models use a diff nbr of course. You might look it up on a yamaha parts catalog and see what the NEW # is since most of them changed... :roll:
