the pic with the tail piece cut off is my original frame. notice that it has a brace across the frame at the back of the piece. and in the other picture is the frame i have now, all it had was tabs. different years possibly? or different models?

Did it have a stock seat on it?

I cut the cross piece off mine. If you took my fender out it would look simiilar to your second pic.

It looks like someone tried to add the rear cross piece from a 550 Maxim on a 550 Seca frame in the second pic. If you post a pic of the entire frame it will be easier to tell for sure. It still may be a 550 Maxim frame that the PO started cutting the rear cross pieces out of and didn't finish.

They are both 550 Maxim frames. So much easier to tell with a full pic. Start a build thread so we can see your build progress and give you the help you need as you go along. I love the 550's.
