what is it about this turn? there's a lot of lessons about what not to do and what to ware.
page 3 has one that a helmet saves a guys life.
youtube rnickeymouse for more, his hobby must be watching people crash, beats doing it yourself.

Sheesh I cut my roadracing teeth on that road on my seca 550 not long after the article "growing up Squidly" came out. We used to get to the Rock Store and have breakfast then start doing runs up and down the hill before the cops would even be up. By 11 am we would be watching all of the other riders go up and down and every now and then crash.. Or we would go to Yorba Buena and head to the coast and have some lunch. To this day Latigo Canyon was my favorite road up there.. Well that and some downhill races (engine off ) at Stunt Canyon after a few of our favorite beverages.

Is there something physical about that turn or is it just hard to judge ?

Its essentially a 180 degree turn, left going up and right going down. Nothing really hard about it except that people get sucked into it trying to show off for the guys that are just a few feet up the road. Well that and I had a buddy that wrote "watch the road you d**k!" on the guardrail. LOL years ago there was even a target painted on the rock just outside the guardrail as you head up the hill.

I think his backpack did the same thing as a back protector that is worn when racing, otherwise I don't think he would have got up as quick as he did!
