Hello group, I just thought everybody could use a good laugh. So get this, I'm looking over XJ parts for sale on Ebay, and there it was! the most insane price I have ever seen on that site. I mean there have been some real beauts, but this one takes the cake. It is even worse than the seller who wanted over $200 for a set of NOS cam cover grommets. This guy set his price for a set of carbs at $648.00! I kid you not. And they aren't even in perfect, pristine shape. Oh sure they are reportedly, alledgedlly, professionally, cleaned! But the chrome on the hats is less then perfect. The next most expensively priced set is, although, still unreasonably high, is only $239.00.
I found a beautiful set of carbs I couldn't pass up for a total of $166.00 on Ebay, sure there were less expensive sets for sale, but the pictures this seller provided were very good. I don't know if this is a case of unabashed greed or the guy was taken to the cleaners by the mech that cleaned his set of carbs. I wrote to the guy and told him he better have a good supply of "Endust" 'cause I suspect he's gonna have them carbs sitting on his shelf for a very, very, long time. I almost forgot! "HAPPY VETERANS DAY" to all those who have served our country.

Did you see the blue oem fairing for 250$ plus 45$ shipping? Excellant shape he says, only has some scrapes, scratches on w/shield and no mounting hardware. Not one bid on it.Been looking for one,but NOT at that price.

I bet its from the same guy who wanted 500.00 for a seat, it was a nice seat but it will never be that nice. some of those folks are half crazy/half stupid.

There has been a beat to hell rusty seca tank on there for way too much, and saw a used & battered TCI for $275. The seller even said it came off a running bike, but he offered no gaurantees that it would work and no returns were possible. GOOD LUCK selling that one when you can get one for $80 from a seller who says it's been tested and works fine, and if you want you can return it for a full refund. hmm...which one to buy from.

It's just getting harder to find the gems among the crazies.

I paid $2 yes $2 for my spare TCI unit; I've tested it myself and it's fine. But that was three years ago.

It just takes more work these days. I just picked up a no longer available part that used to sell for $57.00, brand spankin' NOS for $6. The deals are still out there, you have to look smarter is all.

The crazies seem to be getting crazier too.

I wonder sometimes how mankind will survive when all the common sense finally dies. those who still have it are a dying breed
