If you feel as if you have been deliberately swindled by someone, you need to alert the regular Forum users and register a formal complaint with Admin.

 

Spill the beans.
If they took advantage of you. What is to stop them from doing the same to other members. It has happened before, and will unfortunately happen again. The only means to put an end to it is to make it known by all. Public chastizement in an open group is very effective at weeding out the bad seeds.

you guys are nuts and I love that. I went out for a nice cold long night ride and got my head together.
Its cool guys the dude made it right last night, he had some stuff he was dealing with too was having prooblems making contact, stuck somewhere....
In any case he made it right but its nice to know you guys are.. well that you are just you, and you all get the gold star on my list.

 

I've only been here a year but I would hope that whoever ripped you off would see this thread and make peace with you ASAP and get the issue resolved.

If he/she doesn't, absolutely call them out. You may feel that you're doing the "honorable" thing by not making it public, I understand that because it would be my first thought as well but in reality, all you're doing is making it easier for them to rip the next guy off.

If you don't call them out by name, you will, in a way be complicit in their next "score" on one of the members here and I'm sure that isn't something that you want on your shoulders nor your intent.

I am glad to hear that he made it right but by all means you need to let it be known to all so that it doesn't continue with other members on here. This is a great site for information and fellowship. That is one of the reasons I love his forum. I couldn't tell you how many times I have gotten assistance on problems that I have encountered. I think I speak for everyone on this forum that we don't need members on here that would do that to fellow members. However, I'm glad it was made right and all is well.

He already said it was due to a breakdown in communications not an overt attempt to rip him off; and that it's been rectified.

I've been through this thread over and over, I don't see where SKW said anything about a break down in communications. Am I just blind? or is this one of those "read between the lines things"?

 

That's what I got from "having problems making contact." I guess it might be "reading between the lines" but to me "having problems making contact" implies a communication issue.

It was during a holiday as well. Easy to have problems around those!

Yep, Fitz I'm just blind, now I see where he said that. I have suffered from this weird type of blindness all my life; like I'll be working at my bench and I'll set down a part or tool, and the next thing I know it's GONE. Of course I usually find it in the last place I look.
