    Your new valve shims Sir...

    i1 no change
    i2 no change
    i3 no change
    i4 285
    e1 285
    e2 290
    e3 285
    e4 275

Although intakes 1,2, and 3 don't need a shim now, they most likely will, so keep the pad numbers for reference the next time you check the valves.

The price has gone up to $8.50 for the aftermarket shims...still a great deal.

from what I have read...they fit but they don't "really" fit. From my experience you don't cut corners with engine internals. Not saying you did, I haven't heard of them but reading up its a hit or miss.

The Yamaha electrons will detect and possibly repell the Kawasaki electrons causing "shim rejection." And that's the last thing we want.

Seriously though, it has to do with the chamfer (or lack of it) on the edges; I'd stick to Yamaha shims too.

    tskaz got your shims right.

You'll want to think about replacing the valve cover gasket soon (depending on its condition) and when you do, be sure to replace those rubber/metal "donuts" on the bolts. You'll notice that the bolts have "stop" collars to prevent overtightening; the donuts are what actually press the cover down against the gasket/head.

nice I just have to get my order into Chacal, thanks for all the help everyone. @ Fitz, I have a new valve cover gasket coming but did not order the donuts, are they a must replace item?

You should definitely replace those donuts when you replace the gasket. If they are the least bit worn (very likely) then your new gasket will do you no good...it will leak.

The good thing about the rubber gaskets and donuts is that they can be re-used a few times when they are new.
