so i got my 80 maxim. i took out the tach, and am looking to cap it off. i am buying the block off plug off chacal in a few months, but was wondering if anyone had a "temporary" solution until then. im not sure about plugging it bc im not sure what chemicals would be ok with oil. not sure what the nut size is either. didnt know if maybe someone found a cap at lowes or something. thoughts, ideas? again.... im fixing it this winter.... but its still riding weather at the moment :)

Take the screw-on part from your old tach cable and take an appropriately-sized coin (I think a penny fits, if not, a dime) slather some gasket sealer on one side, and drop that side into the cap (so that the sealer will be AWAY from the motor) and screw the cap on. Wipe off excess sealer.
