Anyone know how to remove the stator cover on a 78 Goldwing GL1000?

Engine is already out of the bike, sitting on the floor. All stator cover bolts are out, but the cover won't come off. What am I missing? Something else still holding the cover tight?

    Any help would be appreciated.

In advance, no I don't have a manual, one is not available to me right now, that's why I'm asking. So, no need to tell me that it would be a good idea to have a manual.

    Thanks,

    Dave Fox

Probably a couple of dowels in there, Dave, I don't know the bike, but the magnets can really hold on. Wiz.

From the fiche it looks like 10 bolts, two threaded studs that probably have nuts on them, and two hollow dowel pins. Is that the cover you're talking about?

Got it off, thanks for the links. I had the ten bolts out, the two nuts off the studs, but it turned out that the clutch cover had to come off, too, as several of those bolts go through the cover, through the rear cover, and into the block. Once all of those were out the whole thing cam off with a little prying and wedging.

Now time to replace the stator, then I get to see if I remember how the whole bike came apart. :)

Hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas!
