Gauze Screen

    Rebuilding/re-jetting my carbs....PO rebuilt them at sometime and took out all four gauze screens that sit below the float needle seat. Are these important? and (I think I already know the answer - Chacal) where can I find some? I can't find any on E-Bay. What is another name for this part?

    Needle seat mesh filter, most commonly referred to as a beanie screen.

    Not critically important, but highly recommended. The bike will run without them, but they are the last line against rust or dirt entering the carbs.

    And yes, chacal has them. Just not sure if they are seperate or only with new needle seats.

    yeah, I went to my local motorcycle store and they can only get it as the whole assembly and it's $101 through them. After comparing their $140 helmet to the same one online for $82 and their $240 carb joint set for a $50 single one, I think they're a little overpriced ;)

    You can get the needle and seat with a screen from chacal for a LOT less than $100. Just send him a PM.
