Reevu is a brand of British helmets that utilize an integrated rear view mirror. Seems like a great idea for a noob rider like me. Has anyone seen one of these first hand? Should a new rider buy a $400 helmet? Seems like an excellent option for keeping a watch on your 6.

I would def check out eBay first if you are thinking of getting it. It's pretty sweet, but I just turn my head and my body a little and I can see behind me fairly well for a quick glance. This would be a good traffic/highway helmet.

    Thank you for the reply.

I just found one in the next town over on a local classified site. 2011, barely worn with both sets of clear and tinted lenses. Still has the box, cover and manual. The gentleman is selling it for $200. Seems like a great deal to me. Hopefully the size is the same as other "L" helmets. Should be great for the commute.

Heathen, does yours fit tight or loose for its size? I have been trying on large helmets and most have been snug. Since the reevu is slightly heavier, I figure it better be snug.

    RE: Helmet fit:

It should be snug, especially a new helmet.

You should NOT be able to jam your finger up between the helmet and your head.

If you shake your head (not violently, but shake it) up and down and side-to-side, the helmet should move with you, your head should not move within the helmet.

Honestly? I choose a helmet by trying them on, then picking the one that fits the best and is somewhat within my price range.

But then again, I've been doing this for a long, long, time and don't have much patience for "gimmicks." REAL mirrors have served me well for 43+ years.

You can buy bar end mirror for less then $400 . I like bar ends you see alot behind you and not your shoulders.
