I have the XJ750 with the stoopidly fancy computer system which I have just taken off and wonder what all the builders have done with the loom.

the front end is going to be naked bar a speedo so any hints and tips would be great

I slimmed mine down a bit.

White plug is ignition switch, black plug is headlight, white plug with rubber seal is instruments and the rest is horn and front indicators.

When I bobbed my 750 Seca, I replaced the big ugly speedo/tach with a small speedometer and LED indicator lights.
All the other wires I didn't use were labled and taped up behind the headlight, just incase I need any of them in the future. The hardest part was being able to hide all of them. After cutting them as short as possible (just long enough to still get at them) I used a piece of black plastic to make a cover between the for legs to hide them.
I may go back one day and just cut all the un-used wires out of the wire harness completely as I haven't found the need for them anyway.

If you don't plan on using any of the extra wires out of the stock speedometer, your better off to re-do that part of the harness and keep it simple. There's about a mile of wire you won't need!
