    I have a 85 xj700 maxim. I have 2 float needles that the rubber tip came off of. The float needle wont stop the flow of fuel. I need new ones.
    I have a couple question.
    First, I had a vendor tell me that there are several models of xj 700 with different float needles. Can anyone help me figure out what model I have ???
    Where can I buy the float needles at ???
    Should I replace the seat that the needle sits in ???
    Thank you,
    Bikercouple

    If it's air cooled it's an XJ700N. If it's got a radiator it's an XJ700XN.

    Send a message to member Chacal telling him which model is yours and the number of needles you need.

    ++1....Len is THE MAN!!

    I just ordered a full set of float needles & seats to stop my sump filling up with fuel.
    My float needles have rubber tips & all look ok, but they're 30 years old & don't quite seal properly.
    I'm changing mine to one's without the rubber tip to cope with the various blends of fuel we are all becoming subjected to more often.
    Len has all the info & parts you need.

    Cheers,

    Tim
