    My bike's PO apparently hated Yamaha. That's all I can figure since he found EVERY SINGLE PLACE Yamaha is mentioned on the bike and slathered on enough bondo to choke a giraffe!

    If that wasn't enough, he also painted silver over all of his bondo. Sadly, anything that was NEAR where he used bondo ALSO got painted... Sight glasses, electrical connections/switches, screws, bolts, whatever.

    Why couldn't he have been this careful with his maintenance?

    Ugh, back outside to chip away more bondo.

    LOL nail on the head! He even put Harley badges on the tank, along with tons of fake chrome skulls everywhere.

    Well this is the craziest thing I ever heard. Before everybody starts asking questions, do you have any pictures? & maybe a pic of this poor misguided soul who did this. We just gotsta know.

    No pics of the bondo (and it's partially off now, though I'll be fighting with cleaning the remnants out of the valve covers for quite a while), but I have some pics of some of the skulls:

    Nice, oooooohhhh skulls, he is a bad boy. Bad to the bone. I have to admit I was hoping to see a serious survivor that was beautiful by reading the title.

    @Maxim-x, that picture is truly frightening, and why do you have it? Kinda makes you go blaaagggghheeewwww, with a shudder

    Skoster-you have my respect for taking in a rescue. This site is the best place in the world for tech support for your Maxim. There are members here who know your bike inside & out. Restore some dignity to your once-great Maxim & you'll be a hero. Keep us posted on your progress & good luck.

    Did I forget to mention that the guy put on straight pipe no exhaust? It didn't need the black paint or skulls to sound bad, it managed just fine on it's own! :lol:

    At least the skull tail light looks better than the original. But there is such a thing as too many skulls.LOL
