So I have to sell my XJ550. The mileage is over 20K. I had the brakes done, the engine tuned and new tires as of last year, but commuting to school up 76 each day for 6 months straight really did a beating on the engine. When it finally quit on me, I had no money to get it repaired, and as I am just starting my own business I have no money now either.

I would love another XJer to have it, but I'm not picky. The only work I have done since the P.O. to improve it was to swap out the old bus fuses and put in the blade ones. I have never crashed it, but it has been kept on the street and sidewalks of south Philly.

I'm looking for $500. If I get no takers eventually I will donate to NPR.

Not entirely sure. The long story is that while headed out to KoP one morning the engine was losing power. I was going 65ish in the left lane and pulled in the clutch to see what that would do and it went silent. I got over to the right shoulder eventually and then coasted to a stop just before the West River Dr. exit. After calming my frustrations down, I tried starting it again. About 5 minutes later it did start, but had dark horrible god awful make you sick fumes coming from the exhaust. I limped in that state back to the Art Museum and then pushed from there to my house in South Philly. It did run for another leg of all that way, but not being able to breathe and being so embarrassed at full blown 9am commuter traffic, I didn't really force it the whole way. Something is wrong at such a deep level I can't fix it on the street, and can't afford to pay my mechanics over at Working Class Cycles to do it.
