I just bought myself a rack of carbs that I'm told were off an 81 xj650. I plan on completely cleaning and rebuilding them then putting them on my 82 xj650.

Is there any reason that won't work? They are hitachi and so are mine. Will I need to change anything like the jets, etc?

Howdy, I believe the carbs are for the most part identical for 650 and 750, just swap out the 650 jets for the 750.

I believe the only difference between the carbs is the 82s will have a finer pitch on the pilot screw.

The assembled rack MIGHT have different spacing between the carbs. They changed the holders in 82 for the YICS head. I suspect the different holders do the compensating and the rack will probably slide right in.
