do seca 550 rear wheels work on a maxim 550?

    hey, i have a 1982 maxim 550 and I am wondering if i can use a similar year seca 550 rear wheel on my bike???

    It will fit. Rear sprocket may have a different number of teeth. The Seca wheel is also a larger diameter. If you swap wheels, you will need the rear brake plate and spacers too. The front wheel is a different story though. The brake rotor is on the opposite side on the 550 Seca.

    You can, however, swap the rotor to the other side. I did it when I swapped the other way, seca to maxim wheels. The bolt holes are covered by a black plastic cover, and are already threaded.

    The sprockets have the same number of teeth.

    Remember that not only is the Maxim's rear brake drum larger, the Maxims have "swirly" wheels while the Seca's wheels have straight spokes.

    For aesthetic purposes, you might want to swap the front too.
