hello good XJ folks! I just found this forum while looking for the remnants of an old XJ Owners group that i was a member of years ago. It looks like this site has absorbed the site I was looking for

Anyways, i have just started getting my old bike back on the road and thought I would join up here.

I'm in Houston TX and have a 1982 Maxim XJ750J with 17k on the clock and its fully dressed with a Windjammer faring and a set of Krauser Givi hardbags and trunk. (she likes to pretend she is a Goldwing...) She also has mufflers from a Harley FLTH of some kind... (pics to come)

I even still have both side covers!

Anyways, i'm looking forward to chatting with the good folks here.

its been so long since then I can't remember. When I had found the group the "ownership" had just changed hands. and then not too long after it kinda migrated to a Yahoo group. It was a little after that that i dropped out of the scene.

well, i got her out and did some work on her today. Drained the old gas out of the tank, changed the oil, checked the final drive oil (OK) new oil filter, new spark plugs and fresh gas. New battery (currently charging)

Jump started her with my Emergency jump starter and after warming up she was able to idle with the choke off. I'll probably still take her over to the shop and have the carbs redone sice they have been sitting so long.

Didn't get to ride since I had no battery installed, but i'll put it in tomorrow after work and maybe go for a quick spin.

anyways, here are a few (not so good, taken with cell phone) pics.
