Brilliant, anybody can run a bike till it overheats. I bet if you put a Harley in place of the Seca it would not last through the first minute.
Shows the durability of these Yamaha inline 4 engines, it took awhile . If you notice in the video there are several breakes where they cut some time out.

Did anyone notice his "partner" trying to turn the throttle mirror to the left and he couldn't figure it out? So he just bent it down lol. It's at the 45 second mark of the video.

"I pick things up. I put things down."

Watch the guy in the brown jacket flutter his arm like a chick too and prance away when it catches fire. He does it at 4:27 mark.

Never seen someone beg for applause so much either.

What a bunch of douches! Ignorance is bliss...

That guy with the mirror is a moron, very funny.

The best part is at the 4:57 mark, haha. Some fool thinks he should shut the fuel off before the fire gets bad. Watch it closely. This idiot actually turns the petcock to prime! The fire immediately grows. HAHAHAHA That is too funny! I am actually laughing out loud right now....ha

All i have to say is "why?" Why ruin a perfectly good bike? Why the hell are they cheering like he accomplished anything for the first probably 20 minutes? What is so entertaining about a guy revving a motorcycle for an extended period of time, in an attempt to blow it up, taking so long it had to just be annoying, and ultimately just looking like an ass.

Deep insecurity, a lack of intellect and self worth --- these manifest themselves in interesting ways... probably has a "Yamaha Sucks" tatoo right next to his "My mommy didn't Love me" tatoo

I would also guess, by the way, that he could have been featured in the Seinfeld "I was in the Pool" episode:

Ugh, they did it to a nighthawk as well... Same result but shorter time. I'm choked, not a good way for any bike to die!

Excuse me while I go in the garage and caress my XJ's.

Unbelievable. I know a thousand people, including myself, who would have treated that bike like a Lamborghini. Now it's on fire.

I've also seen videos of someone hotdogging a seca 650, revving the engine hard at a stand still, overheating it, and then it throws a rod, right through the engine case and almost hits the camera man. Can't seem to find it any more.

Point being, the crowd should be thankful that seca only caught fire and didn't fight back.

    Love the fire brigade...

I can't believe what I just saw... At least the seca didn't go without a fight!

Those two look like they barely know how to ride, and the crowd probably thought they were watching this guy demonstrate how resilient the bike is...

When I found my Maxi, the guy who was advertising it basically said classic Yamaha in overall good shape, can be brought back to life, or if some Harley guys want it for target practice (or other mischief) would be willing to sell cheaper as long as he got a video or pictures of its demise.

So I would like to think that I save my baby from a demise at the hands of moronic imbeciles who think they need to trash anything that isn't a Harley. Freakin A-hole classes bags of douche.

Actually it was a situation similar to this that started my interest in XJ's I was at the Bathurst Bike races about 25 years ago.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJSlro-47Ns
Dont think we'll see bikes there ever again too dangerous ,sad really.
Anyway we were camped on the mountain, and the guy's near us had a hire XJ750,without a word of a lie anywhere up to 10 guy's took turns doing burnouts and flat strap runs up the campground tracks from 5 in the arvo to around 3 in the morning, as the drinking went on that poor bike never got shutdown except to put fuel in it.
Constant redline in first and second, donuts ,burnouts and wheelies by the bucketful some of those blokes could ride, mad skillz as the young un's say.
All on sand based tracks so no high speed to cool it just constant flogging.
Would have been only a couple of months old maybe 20000k on the clock at the beginning of the thrashing but an undeclared 150000k by the end, dont get me wrong no one wanted to kill that bike it was more of this bike doesn't belong to any of us so lets thrash the living daylights out of it.
Around 8ish the next morning the rider started it up,that bike just fired up and idled perfectly on choke like nothing had ever happened.Mate said he saw it leaving and it blew a little smoke but nothing over the top.
Every single one of us were amazed the bike still ran.
Been an XJ fan ever since.
Very curious about how long that bike in the first post actually took to blow up in real time.

Sad to see but amazing how long it lasted. That is one tough engine. Try that with a 30 year old Harley! Hmmmmmm Makes me want to buy an old sportster just to try it.

this is one of the videos I show people to convey just some of the things I love about my bike. How everloving long she takes it and likes it as these monkeys make their assassination attempt. As someone else said above, I double dog dare you to put your 'murkin iron through ONE minute of that. I'll take "thrown pushrod in 45 seconds" in the betting pool.
