Parts are starting to fit into place. I finished the crankshaft today along with a few other small parts including the self-destructing primary chain guide and the cam chain guides. The internal motor parts are approximately 90% complete, a few nuts and bolts to go.

The next step is my nemesis the major castings, so it will probably be a while before the next update.

After the castings I will be able to complete the internal connecting chains, I need the castings first to confirm the position of the chain paths.

Keep the comments and suggestions coming, feedback has been a useful tool to shape the project.

    Thanks FlyGP

The rendering is not fully timed yet, just a pretty picture, I think the #1 cam lobes would be facing out if at TDC of the compression stroke.

Too bad Yamaha didn't have different colors for all the parts......would have been much easier a long time ago. But.....with pictures like this--life just got a whole lot better. Well, when this is DONE, life will be much easier! Awesome job, keep it going!

please forgive my ignorance but what is this going to be used for? absolutely stunning work, im definately not trying to bash your talent or anything because its beautiful. is this just an extremely detailed reference? or am i missing something? keep up the great work, man. this has to be one of the coolest things ive ever seen. i love the color, it makes it so much easier for a dummy like myself to understand how everything goes together. if thats your goal then youve definately accomplised that and more.

    Looks great.

I'd agree that your appear out of time with #1 at TDC on the compression stroke.

This looks like such an amazing resource... Can't wait to see it finished. I don't know nearly enough to be of any use to you, obviously, but wow. Thank you so much, kind stranger.
