Any tips on pullin 650 motor. Do I have to remove oil filter and housing? I have carbs off as well as all bolts removed. Just thought there might be a trick.

Yes, oil filter & housing have to be removed & the clutch cable mount, the mill comes out to the right. Depends how much the bike is stripped, but the best method is to lay the bike on it's right side & lift the FRAME off.

 Wished I had heard that last week. I just pulled the plant from my 750 and this would have been a heck of a lot easier. I straddled the bike, grabbed a couple handfuls of plant, gave it a 45 degree turn to the right, then from the right side, grabbed the rails between the valve covers, and the rear of the engine and lifted it out of the frame. I found this rather challenging for a 140 lbs older young fellow.

I wasn't implying that my way worked well. I was implying that I had wished I had heard what Wiz suggested. My way worked but is physically strenuous. Plus, i put some scratches on the frame taking the motor out. If I do this to put it back in, I will lay some thin rubber padding on the frame before inserting the engine.

Wiz, How did you prepare to lay the bike over? Did you leave a couple of bolts in, then remove them after the bike was on it's side? Is it difficult to align the motor putting it back in with this method?

Just make sure the last 2 bolts can be withdrawn from the left (or top). This by far the easiest way to realign the mounts when re-installing the mill.
