I recent bought these turn signals for my 82 maxim 650 off of Tc bros. http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/index.php ... gnals.html

The stock ones are double wire and these ones are single. My turn signals work completely fine when the stock ones are in place but when I tried to put my new ones on they didnt work at all. Since they only have 1 wire I plugged them into the positive circuit and nothing happend at all. I have been looking through the forums to figure out what is wrong but I cannot pin point it. PLEASE HELP

They are trying to get ground thru the mounting points then the frame then battery.

Try a spare wire to battery negative and signals mounting threads to test them off the bike.

    make sure they're drawing 27W (1156's are 27W bulbs.)

The stock system needs the current draw from a pair of 27W bulbs to flash properly. Quite often aftermarket signals come with lower-wattage bulbs.

Yep they dont draw enough watts to make the relay work correctly. I tried to find some 12 watt bulbs that pull 27 or more watts but i cant find any that will fit inside my turn signals. Guess ill have to just break down and buy a new relay

    12W bulbs draw 12W; 27W bulbs draw 27W.

If you replace the flasher relay, you will lose the self-cancelling feature unless you do some electrical re-engineering.
