Bike seemed to be running fine. Then it started having issues with accelerating. It would sputter in 1st or 2nd gear but only for a short time. Fuel line had a kind and I replaced the line and filter. Battery was having trouble keeping a charge and I replaced that as well. Bike started this morning but died shortly after. Wouldn't start after that.

I don't know much about bikes. This is my first one and I'm learning. Any info would be helpful.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to a great forum!

#1 tip is to use the "search" feature, and read many of the fine writeups about tuning, cleaning carbs, adjusting valves, etc., that are required to keep our old bikes running well and safely. Your symptoms could have multiple causes including carburetor or electrical connections in the ignition system.

Also, the stock fuel valve (petcock) has a PRIME, ON, and RESERVE position. Make sure the carbs have fuel by using PRIME, then switch to ON (which is also intended to be the OFF setting when the bike's not running).

Also, put the year and model in your signature line. The model year is cut off in your subject line.
