Just had a brilliant ride today on the old XJ. 160 miles through some of Yorkshire's best scenery (Bradford to Boroughbridge to Thirsk to Sutton Bank to Malton to Fimber to Tadcaster and home).

Really started to give it some welly with the revs (up to redline) and I think it's the best ride I've ever had on this bike. Coming down Garrowby Hill a group of five guys on sportsbikes came past - once we hit the valley floor I was able to keep with them by really wringing its neck - up to 90'ish, but quite a few cars to pass. Stayed with them for the next five or six miles though.

The bike seems to be fuelling better than ever - It even pulled through that 5 to 6K hole on the flat and no misfires, even up to the redline. That recent post about revvin the nuts off these bikes was so, so right.
