effects of seca cams in a maxim engine?

    just curious as to the effects of putting 550 seca cams in my 550 maxim engine? any better performance? is it even possible? has anyone ever done this before? :?:

    Yes, it's possible but I doubt it'd be worth it.

    The carbs are different too; the pilot air jets (easy) and main slide needles (good luck) are different. Ask chacal, but I think you might have to find a set of Seca carbs.

    The difference in the cams is 1mm more lift on the intakes, and 0.3mm more lift on the exhausts. I doubt you'll be spending enough time at high RPM (based on the mods to your bike) to make it worthwhile.

    On top of that, you really want to try to keep heads and cams as a set. So you'd need to find a clean Seca head (w/carbs) to do it right.

    okay, so the cost to benefit ratio is way off haha. thanks for the info. i think i might look into it as a long run project, but meanwhile i'll keep er on the road and enjoy the work i've put into it so far
