I stumbled across this website while looking for a service manual for my new purchase.

I have managed to secure an in original condition XJ750RL 1984 model. It would appear that the 46000km are genuine.

No photos yet as I don't pick the bike up until next weekend.

Anyway, G'day and thanks for the site.

Welcome to the site, you're at the right place! Lots of good people here who know these bikes inside & out and are willing to share their knowledge. If you need parts, look no further than our man Chacal here @XJ4ever at the top of the page. Good luck with your new purchase.

Welcome to the site & look after that 750RL. The 45T is a bit rare , it seems only 200 of them built & they came to Oz, but a lot of the 900 parts fit. 8)
I have a Yamaha PDF document on the 750RL as a supplement to the 900, I can email it to you if you want.

I was really considering that bike. YI unfortunately I already have three of those in my garage in various stages of disrepair. I got one of my frames back from the powder coaters today so I thought it best to pass on your bike.ou got it for a good price and looks in reasonable condition. Hope that you enjoy it.

    Thanks for the welcome guys.
@ pmjydnl, yes it was a great price, I honestly thought there'd be a lot more competition. I knew they were a bit rare but having found out how rare it might not get used for as much touring as I thought. I'll go on the hunt for a 900 too I think.

@ ol_750, a copy of that manual would be great and thanks for the reply on the tank too. my email is roadbandit41 at gmail dot com.
Might have to head for a ride up around newcastle way to make sure it runs properly at some point in time.....

I really gave it away when it was located in Tassie. I know that he was prepared to arrange freight into Melbourne...not so sure about NSW though. Should be able to replacethe Left side switch and mirror easily enough though. I met a guy in Sydney last week who was walking out of a dealership having just purchased one ...ordered from Japan...$450. Luckily for him, his next door neighbour bumped his bike cusing it to fall over and the only casulty was the mirror/clutch/switch combo an she was happy enough to pay for the replacement. fair bit of spares around if you are prepared to look for it and be patient. Anything from the dealershi....big money.

So .. what was th great price and what does it look like ? been doing a bit of RL reading lately .. 'pparently bigger valves, carbs and horses than th Seca / Maxim models ..on some or all?? Since so few were produced from th parts storage area.
