83 xj750r seca wire question

    ok got a wire near my solinoid . its white with a small red stripe. the po must have cut it. where does it go? second question does anybody have a link to a wire diagram for this bike. one i can print online?

    battery level sensor wire. Thats why your battery warning light is on.

    yep, Haynes calls it the battery fluid level sensor. It looks like mine is attached to the + battery terminal....I'm not sure if that's the proper bypass when not using a level sensor...but it seems ok and the warning light stays off.

    Proper way to bypass is to install a 2K resistor in series to the + battery terminal.

    -------Wire---------2K resistor---------- B+

    I don't even think it's picky about the resistor. I just did an eliminator for a Venture using a 10K resistor. I wouldn't go with no resistor, just in case it can somehow get enough current to damage the monitor.

    I think RadioShack still sells resistors.

    I started running 2.2kohm and the bat light would still come on with 12V at the battery, so I ditched the resistor and haven't had a problem since.
