Here is the video. As the info on the page says, '82 maxim 1100 vs '83 midnight maxim which has 750cc's. I start in second, he starts in first. I go up to the top of fourth while he goes up somewhere in 5th.

Just figured it would be fun to show what a race between an 1100 and a 750 looks like :)

Yes we normally wear our motorcycle jackets, just thought it was going to be a quick pass through town. And yes yes I know all your gear all the time but.. It happens.

Wish i knew how to just embed the video right here for you guys... Because I can't get it to work.

Your video height, and width settings are to high to allow veiwing in the post.

Now I see why Bigfitz went to a lot of effort to remove that restricted speedo.
That needle all the way to the stop as the tach kept winding up was even more disturbing than the fact that you were racing on the wrong side of the road, lol.
Bikes are nice and clean we didn't get the 1100 here, those handlebars look different.

That was cool and I enjoyed watching it very much, would love to see some more footage of those bikes going head to head.

Looks like the 750 was faster than that 1100.

I'd love to try a 750+ XJ, however... I'd love to find a nice Seca 550 as well, to round out the collection :). Cool video, at least we got some idea of what she was revving at! Who ever thought that an 80Mph speedo was a good idea should be shot.

Thanks guys, yeah the whole speedo swap fitz did would be nice, considering I can pin the speedo in 2nd gear lol.

MN, maybe it looked faster because it got the jump at first? That was just because I was starting in second gear and he started in first gear.

Thanks Al, I think i might just start a thread for videos, because there will be more to come for sure! :)

It would be neat to see a re run from a standing start. Considering the weight difference, I'd still go with the 750 in the 8th, but the 1100 would probably overtake in the quarter...

Yeah i guess it is a pretty nice area to cruise around in. You can just head out and take random county roads and eventually just find your way back, I think those rides are the most fun :D

I would still go with the 1100 in the 1/8th in a heartbeat

If both bikes are in top running order... the 1100 would win hands down in the any length (1/8, 1/4 ro full mile or more) given both riders are equal in skills. The 750 would have a slight advantage in turns but I don't think that it's enough to out do the 1100.
