1st gear accelaration problems...

    1981 xj750 purchased last week was idling and running fine but backfiring with and without throttle. has 4 to 1 exhaust

    2 days ago i put a full bottle of seafoam in a full tank of gas.
    after that my bike would not start.

    i emptied my tank and put fresh gas and cleaned the plugs. the bike started

    now i have very poor accelaration up too 3000 rpm. it posp chugs hesitates and after 3000 smoothes out.

    i never had this problem after using seafoam before any ideas?

    Use less seafoam, then run the bike for 5-10 minutes. Park it overnight and go for a nice long ride to flush the tank completely. Refill with fresh gas and see where it stands.
