Sooooooooooooooo..... I just got new indicators off e-bay.
    They're from drag specialties.

But here's my problem... Like LED's they don't draw enough power to make them cancel.

Has anyone else on here used them successfully?

I was wondering if there was simply a higher-load bulb I could sick in there to get it to work? Or a really cheap solution to my problem?

I was told that I could use a trailer adaptor for a car to get the indicators to work as brake lights... Would that also work to increase the load?

I love the look of these indicaitors and I just want to make em work... on a budget.

    - Thanks

    Ease,
I don't think installing a trailor adapter will solve the problem with the blinkers. It will make your turn signals come on with your brake light however ( I did that to mine)
What you will need is an electronic flasher to make them flash slower, but I can't help you with the canceling issue. >PD<

    By canceling I meant flashing...

So what am I looking at here? I need to buy just an electronic flasher to get them to work?
If so - where can I get one and what am I looking at spending?

You either need to increase the load, or switch to an electronic flasher.

Option A depends on what kind of bulb they use, and what's in there now. You might just be able to find a higher-wattage version of the same bulb. This option lets you keep the auto-cancelling feature of the signals.
Another way would be to add some resistors in the line.

Option B will solve the problem also, you could even switch to all LED bulbs if you want. Only drawback is you'll lose the auto-cancelling feature.

Thanks alot, I've been wondering if the flasher would be enough to fix my problem... I found one right in my budget ($10.00 :)) On e-bay so I think I'll grab it up and hope for the best...
(I never even knew my bike had auto cancel... I cancel out of every turn)

There's another one there if anyone is interested... Or you can wait and I'll be the Guinea Pig...

    Has anyone used this?

did you try crappy tire? I believe they have them also...I used an electronic flasker out of my ford pickup, it's a little slow but it works!...but the price from e-bay is pretty good anyway.

Yeah I just got back from there... All they had was a 5 prong heavy duty one.

I'll just wait for the relay to get here from the states (ordered LED taillight bulbs too 8) Same seller + combined shipping = why not? And I'm still in the budget ($22.00 Total).

By the way, I May just ask for your assistance at some point this summer to rig up a trailer adaptor to my blinkers, so be ready.

I'm considering it (representing - the only member of - CafeRacerNL Club).

My dad usually goes with a few buddies on their "OLD-wings".
Be a good chance to put my money where my mouth is on the comfort of the clubmans.

I'll go if you take the Maxim instead of the Kawi 8), then at least we're XJbikers.com.

I would if I could afford to have both bikes on the road, the Gsxr is almost done, just got to get the new tires on (I'll have them by thurs.) and finish the paint (metallic blue...weekend job), getting the gas tank coated inside next week also, ...so theres go my buget  , going to have to wait a couple of months before I get back on the XJ project  but it will be done!

we're going to have to meet face to face one day soon, preferably when the weather is warmer  and on bikes

Should have just rattle-canned that sun-bitch flat black - save yourself the money for your Maxim Seat .

Hah, yeah not too far off riding season now... if the rain would stop (right after it melts all the snow - and washes the salt off the roads).

I'm drivin her to paradise tomorrow (rain or shine) to get Eddy to start in on the carbs. After that I'll be out any day it's not unbearably cold or pouring... Gotta get my tires put on at some point too (speaking of budgets).
